"Solid angles and Seifert hypersurfaces"
Abstract
We show an explicit way to provide an explicit construction of a Seifert hypersurface for a codimension-2 link in |Rn+2. The construction involves calculating solid angles of some surfaces. This reveals connections of our construction with magnetic potential studied already by Maxwell. This is a joint project with Supredee Dangskul (Edinburgh/Bangkok) and Andrew Ranicki (Edinburgh).
The seminar takes place on Thursdays from 10:15 a.m. to 12:00
