My main field of interest is quantum information theory with special focus on quantum estimation and quantum cryptography. Some of the topics that I have been working on are: state estimation, quantum metrology schemes in the presence of decoherence, tomography and experimental state reconstruction, channel estimation, optimal attacks on cryptographic protocols, optical implementations of quantum information protocols, entanglement theory.
At the moment I am working on: the mathematical structure responsible for extreme susceptibility of quantum metrology to decoherence, usefullness of non-linear metrology, and quantum enhanced frequency measurements in atomic clocks for arbitrary apriori knowledge.
