Solid State Physics IV i V year of studies
Second semester 2006/07
Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors
(DMS)
The course (2 hours a week) deals
with unusual optical and magnetic
properties of DMS, both in their
bulk form and in quantum structures. These properties result from ion-carrier
and ion-ion interactions, characteristic for this class of
semiconductors. Diluted magnetic semiconductors are of fundamental
importance for the emerging field of spintronics.
