Research field

physics of semiconductors

Research activity

Participation in the initiation of studies of semimagnetic semiconductors (since 1975), mostly by means of optical methods; studies of II-VI compounds with Mn++ and later Fe++ and Cr++ ions. Since 1991 studies of quantum structures, mainly involving semimagnetic semiconductors. In 1993-95 management of a major project on semiconductor technology financed by Polish Committee of Scientific Research, involving seven laboratories. Main present interest: physical phenomena in low dimensional semiconductor quantum structures related to spin of the carriers and excitons.

Participation in advisory or programme committees of international meetings

International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors (Warsaw 1988, Edimburg 2002), 8th Int. Conf. on II-VI Compounds (Grenoble 1997), First Int. Conf. Low Dimensional Structures and Devices (Singapore 1995), Int. School of Semicond. Compounds, Jaszowiec, Poland (1996-98 and since 1999; 1997 - chairman), etc.
