Ganden/Samye : དགའ་ལྡན་/བསམ་ཡས་ (2009)
We leave Ganden, ready for our confrontation with the Himalaya. As we look back before passing the pass we see inhabited buildings, it will be several days until we return to this kind of civilisation. The monastery is defying the height and terrain but beyond it only tents and nomads go. Going into the mountains we encounter a rhythm of life alien to us. Driven not by schedules or by chasing the next picture, but by the necessities of the environment. We overcome them with the help of our hired guides and yaks. Our support crew allows us to ignore these necessities, which nevertheless are visible every step along the way.
