Marek K.Kirejczyk

Welcome to my home page, version 1.1.3.

This page is kept graphics-free due to ideological reasons. I hope some people from places that have slow links may visit it. And anyway, some research claim, that when people go to the web they are going after text, with heavy (or less heavy) images only as a bonus. And I am no artist -- I believe it is better to have a graphics-free page, rather then ill-designed page that takes ages to load and scares people away. In addidtion there is no animations, no java, no CSS and no other modern devices. I've got too much on my head in my regular job to learn HUUUGE stuff without reasonable hope of getting something out of it.

Some words about me. I was born 22 of September 1967 in Warsaw, Poland. I spent most of my life in Warsaw where I studied in primary and grammar schools, as well as in the University. I work as an senior teaching assistant (adiunkt) for the Physics Dept. Warsaw University, in Nuclear Physics Division of Institute of Experimental Physics. I spent 5 years of my life on leave in GSI Darmstadt where I stayed with FOPI Group. I wrote a PhD thesis entitled ``Identyfikacja i badanie produkcji naladowanych mezonow K w spektrometrze FOPI'' (in polish, available from the theses page of Nuclear Physics Division), and defended it in April 2000.

My bibliography is provided as a separate page.

For the living I teach at the Warsaw University's Faculty of Physics. I fulfill a couple of additional duties, i.a. I've been made an acting spiderman (or web-weaver) on the Nuclear Physics Division web server. I have been the co-editor and editor of NPD Annual Report since its 1998 edition, as well as an editor and co-editor of its web editions. I am a web-master for the Mazurian Lakes Conference on Physics in Piaski, August 31 - September 6 - September 11, 2005.

I am interested in quite a number of subjects. Some of them are photography, architecture, mountain-hiking and minerals. I like listening to diverse selection of music -- from classical ``serious'' (Mozart, Brahms) and semi-serious (Strauss), through musicals to modern pop (Alan Parsons Project, Simon and Garfunkel, Enya). I am a crazy bookworm. I am an atheist. I like to do some net.surfing every now and then, when my duties allow. I am interested in physics (well, I have to, don't you think :-) ). I am a member of GUST, polish TeX users' group.

Together with some other people - soc.culture.polish regulars - we started a sort of virtual songbook of camp songs (you know, the ones that are sung best with a guitar, somewhere in the mountains, near the fire...). It somewhat grew both in size and in number of contributors, but then it got frozen (duties). Finally due to a legal threat from `competition' it was shut down (for my farewell letter (in Polish) see SCPiewnik's index page).

I got married. For a little piece of pdf code informing about this event load malz_info.pdf.

Looking for something on the web ? Google is your best friend. And they allow me to offer their search window on my page (thanks, folks).
