YokaShin (2002 - ...)

A hard rock band that had two records out and was pretty big in Poland in mid 90's. But that was before I joined. Currently, we have prepared material for the third record. This includes straight rock ballads some heavier tunes, and some songs that are mixtures of various styles, from swing and funk to heavy metal.

The band:

  • Zbyszek Bieniak - lead vocals
  • Traq (Piotr Traczyk) - guitar, vocals
  • Tomi (Tomasz Targoński) - guitar
  • Mentos (Rafał Turek) - bass
  • Tonic (Piotr Konarski) - drums

Vara (2000 - ...)

With this band we mainly play well known dance/pop hits in heavy metal and rock arrangements. We also do some songs from the "&" record (see below).

The band: (since 2001)

  • Mary (Maria Grunwald) - lead vocals
  • Traq (Piotr Traczyk) - guitar, lead vocals
  • Franio (Łukasz Krajnow) - guitar
  • Mentos (Rafał Turek) - bass
  • Tonic (Piotr Konarski) - drums

mp3:

  • Britney - the first hit from the Dance Hits vol. 666 record - my rendition of Britney Spears' Oops I did it again.
  • Celina - recorced in 2003, a mix of Celine Dion and Metallica. Kicks ass!

Deszczowe Psy (2001 - 2002)

We played some solid rock songs with this band, throwing in some heavier or more challenging stuff here and there. The band broke up after our singer took part in the TV show Idol, where he won the third place. After not hearing from him for a while we learned that he's doing a record with his former band Carpe Diem. Apparently he prefered simpler pop-rock songs, or at least thought they'll sell better.

The band:

  • Carlos (Szymon Wydra) - lead vocals
  • Tomi (Tomasz Targoński) - guitar
  • Traq (Piotr Traczyk) - guitar
  • Mentos (Rafał Turek) - bass
  • Tonic (Piotr Konarski) - drums

mp3:

  • Żołnierz (The Soldier) - a song that Carlos wrote after 9.11, when we were just starting playing together. We opened every show with it. A few years later it appeared as a Carpe Diem single, in a pop arrangement.
  • Reverse - a good representative of the band's style, and one of my personal favourites. The lyrics to this one never came to be, so the singing is actually not poor English - it's genuine "vocalists dialect".

Scandall Cafe (2001 - 2003)

With this band we played simple, optimistic rock tunes.

The band:

  • Adam Pawlica - lead vocals
  • Traq (Piotr Traczyk) - guitar, vocals
  • Mentos (Rafał Turek) - bass, vocals
  • Tonic (Piotr Konarski) - drums, vocals

mp3:

  • Rap - a happy song about a party. Making fun of songs about parties and their authors. With a nice guitar riff.
  • Międzyzdroje - a song about a summer love story on the beach, I guess. Featuring myself, destroying the Dirty Dancing theme in the least unexpected moment.

& (2000)

This was a CD with songs written by Mary, Wojtal and myself, that I recorded at home. The music is pretty diverse, with the most obvious influences being (in alphabetical order) Alice in Chains, Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Steve Vai. Some of the songs are hard to put a label on, at least for me. This CD is essentialy my debut as far as singing and writing songs goes. Besides that, it's the first set of recordings that I made entirely on a computer.

The band:

  • Mary (Maria Grunwald) - lead vocals
  • Traq (Piotr Traczyk) - guitar, bass, lead vocals
  • Wojtal (Wojciech Traczyk) - bass, guitar, vocals

mp3:

  • Round - a bright, mostly acoustic song that I wrote for this record. The vocals are Mary and myself, alternating.
  • lovesong - one of my favourite songs off this CD. A dark composition of Wojtal, sung by him. Highly recommended!
