We kindly inform, that the Selection Committee of the Zdzisław Szymański Prize, after a thorough evaluation of candidates has decided to nominate Dr. Aleksander Parkhomenko for his Phd work " Single-particle effects in the properties of heavy and superheavy nuclei".

The Diploma of the Prize for the year 2008 has been awarded at a gala ceremony during the International Workshop Superheavy and exotic nuclei", 16^th Nuclear Physics Workshop "Maria and Pierre Curie", which was held in Kazimierz Dolny, Poland, September 23-27, 2009. Within a special session, the laureate gave an invited lecture concerning his scientific research.
