TOPICS FOR PHD, MSC AND BSC STUDENTS
General note: I don't separate PhD, BSc and BSc topics, because they are for everyone, just at different levels. Moreover, the list below is not fixed. If you have your own, interesting topic, please wrtie to me: abednorz[at]fuw.edu.pl
- Noninvasive measurement The problem of good modelling of measurements, both classical and quantum is long standing. Every nontrivial measurement model is interesting
- Time (a)symmetry Quantum Noninvasive measurements are
not time symmetric. We look for intersting and experimnetally feasible examples
- Local realism It is still an open question if quantum mechanics violates local realism
- Quaisprobability If you try to "measure" position and momentu simultaneously you end up with "negative probability" - Wigner function, quasiprobability. What are other examples of quasiprobability?
- Continuous measurement Standard measurement is instant but what if we measure continuously?
- Measurements with memory How to model them?
- Relativity and measurementsTrivial or fundamental? The fact that the vacuum is relativistically invariant is highly nontrivial
- Canonical quantization Always correct?
