UPS usage
1. Using UPS at LCO
UPS at LCO is model : SmartPro UPS SMART INT 1400 ( TrippLite
) , software
page , linux soft
UPS at LCO is now connected by USB to pi3 computer, it is possible to
run software monitoring UPS. In order to
run server on pi3 login as root and run command :
/etc/init.d/pa start
After this it is possible to check current input voltage by watching
log file :
tail -f
/opt/pi/ext/poweralert/log/TLS14I/Event/20060801.evt
Note : file name ( in bold ) is changed every month , and name
is date of first day of calendar month.
More sophisticated way of monitoring UPS status is connecting to server
program from hoza, in order to do it , login to heplx43 computer
as root :
ssh heplx43 -l root
cd /opt/pi/ext/poweralert/console
./pa!
After this window with list of server is displayed, choose server IP of
pi3 : 139.229.110.218 and
window of PowerAlert program should be displayed.
Possible problems with connection :
- it can be blocked by firewall on pi3 -
temporary solution is to turn off firewall on pi3 for a while :
su -
/etc/init.d/iptables stop
or open port 41111 for connection from heplx43 ( or any
computer at hoza ) - actualy it was added by MS ( 20060824 )
2. Checking UPS status in WAW
There is poweralert server running on pi3 computer, if not it can be
started as root by running :
/etc/init.d/pa start
This server creates log file which is partly copied to heplx40 with all
status files and can be checked here.
In case there are no fresh entries in this file it means :
- voltage is stable and there was no change (
only changes of Input Voltage are written to log file )
- or server is not running, it can be verified by logging to pi3
computer and typing :
ps -ef | grep pa
in case there is no paserver process it can be started by loging to pi3
as root user and typing :
/etc/init.d/pa start
sometimes restart of paserver process may help :
/etc/init.d/pa stop
/etc/init.d/pa start
3. Zakup nowego ups-a do LCO
Obecny ma 1400 VA i 930 W :
- UPS do Chile ? Jaki jest ten co mamy w LCO ???
SmartPro UPS SMART INT 1400 TrippLite ( 1400 VA ) output
power 940W
+ to ze on stabilizuje napiecie do 220-230 V - to musi byc
Trzeba znalezc podobny , ale zeby umial sam wylaczac kompy, APC
najlepiej kompatybilny z tymi w WAW
