Zdzisław Szymański Prize for the year 2008
The Selection Committee of the Zdzisław Szymański Prize, after a thorough evaluation of candidates has decided to nominate
dr Aleksander Parkhomenko
from The Andrzej Sołtan Institute for Nuclear Studies
for his Ph.D. work “Single-particle effects in the properties of heavy and superheavy nuclei”.
The Diploma of the Prize for the year 2008 has been awarded at the gala ceremony during the International Workshop “Superheavy and exotic nuclei”, 16th Nuclear Physics Workshop “Maria and Pierre Curie”, which was held in Kazimierz Dolny, Poland, September 23-27, 2009. Within a special session, the laureate gave an invited lecture concerning his scientific research.
