Venue

The Workshop will be held in a small village Bolshie Koty (Big Cats) at the shore of the Baikal lake, 18 km north-west from the source of the big Siberian river Angara. The stunning views of the Siberian taiga, the fresh air, and the clean waters of the Baikal lake will accompany the smooth running of the workshop. The village can be reached only by ship, and the transportation from Irkutsk to the workshop site will be taken care by the organizers.

Weather

The typical July temperatures at the Baikal lake are 20 to 25° C, sunny, with fresh evenings (5 to 10° C, so please take warm clothes! ) and splendid starry nights. Occasional rains are possible. The lake water temperature is about 10° C.

Accommodation

All participants will be lodged in a comfortable family village house, two persons per room (four persons per room for students). Single room occupation is possible at an additional payment of approximately 150 EUR; please contact local organizers if you need it. The meals will be prepared by the owners of the house. Russian sauna will also be available. The conferece fee includes all expences at Bolshie Koty.

The sessions will be held under a huge camping tent equipped with computers and projector. Coffee breaks will be served as usual. The internet connection will be available but limited.

Workshop fee

The workshop fee is 600 EUR to be paid on site in cash only (EUR or USD). The fee includes: accommodation in double room, full board, excursions, and transportation between Irkutsk and Bolshie Koty. For students, the workshop fee is 300 EUR, with accommodation in four-bed rooms. Please notice that no cash machines are available at Bolshie Koty.

The hotel in Irkutsk upon arrival (if needed) and on return is not included in the fee.
