Recruitment

Faculty of Physics at the Warsaw University is seeking to fill two (2) positions for MSc students in the TEAM project sponsored by the Foundation of Polish Science Predictive multi-scale simulations for correlated particles inside complex environments.

The offered scholarships are:

  • 1000 PLN (~300 USD) per month for MSc students

  • The team members will work with the following senior researchers of the Faculty:

prof. Krzysztof Byczuk and prof. Jacek A. Majewski (Theme 1: Correlation induced phenomena in electronic models with predictive power: impurity solvers, R-DMFT for interfaces, correlations in magnetic semiconductors and in topological insulators)

dr hab. Piotr Szymczak (Theme 2: The role of hydrodynamic correlations during self-assembly processes at the nanoscale: dynamics protein fibril formation and charge-transport properties of nano-aggregates)

The deadline for applications is May 31, 2012, and a decision is expected to be made within the following two weeks. To apply please send your: 1. CV, 2. motivation letter, 3. one recommendation letter (via e-mail from an address of your former advisor), and 4. grade transcript to pmss@fuw.edu.pl.
