„Nuclear Structure Influences on Near-Barrier Elastic Scattering”
prelegent: dr hab. Nicholas Keeley (Instytut Problemów Jądrowych im. A. Sołtana)
Streszczenie: Elastic scattering is often dismissed as trivial to measure and uninteresting to analyse. In fact it is neither, as I hope to demonstrate. Drawing examples mainly from recent radioactive beam data I will show how the form of the elastic scattering angular distribution at incident energies close to the Coulomb barrier can be affected by nuclear structure influences, provided care is taken to obtain precise measurements.
