Polish currency

Polish currency is called "zloty" (zl). It is not tied up to any other currency, and its exchange rate is based on its market value. The current exchange rate is about 4.50 zl/$. It varies on a daily basis, and more-or-less follows the Polish ~10% inflation rate. You can buy and sell Polish zlotys at numerous exchange offices (called "kantor") or in banks. In particular you can exchange money at the airport, both before and after the custom's control. The exchange fees are fairly low - in exchange offices they are usually below 1%. You can also get zlotys at numerous automatic teller machines that accept most major credit or debit cards.
