Visa

Foreign participants will need the Russian visa. Please make sure that, when flling the registration form, you provide all the details, as they will be needed for visa application. In order to allow for sufficient time for visa request processing, we kindly ask participants to provide this data before May 5th.

Getting to Irkutsk

The participants are expected to arrive to Irkutsk, the capital of the region. Local organizers will pick them up at the airport, bring together, and take care of the boat transportation to the workshop site.

The usual route to Irkutsk is by plane via Moscow. The flights arrive to Irkutsk early in morning, so be prepared for a night flight. The two major companies which serve several flights per day are Aeroflot and S7 Airlines. Please notice that summer is the high season at the Baikal lake, so please book your tickets well in advance.

If you arrive before June 28th, you might need a hotel in Irkutsk. The local organizers will be glad to help you with booking the night in the hotel. Please notice that the hotel is not included in the workshop fee.

Upon arrival

On June 28th, we will be meeting the participants arriving to Irkutsk by several morning flights. If you arrive earlier, we will also meet you at the airport. By afternoon, we will have met all the participants at the airport and brought them together at the Irkutsk State University. At 14:45, we are going to embark the high-speed boat to Bolshie Koty and arrive there approximately in one hour.

Departure

We return to Irkutsk on July 3rd. The boat from Bolshie Koty arrives to Irkutsk in the afternoon, while the flights from Irkutsk to Moscow depart in the morning. You will most probably need a hotel at Irkutsk for the next morning (July 4th) departure. The local organizers will be glad to help you with booking the night in the hotel. Please notice that the hotel is not included in the workshop fee.

What if I need flexibility

If you would like to spend some time in Moscow or travel around Russia, this is certainly possible. In this case, please provide the suitable dates in the registration form as they will affect you visa validity period.
